Mente Foundation

Equipping Communities.
Scaling Practical Solutions.
Mente Foundation is the social impact arm of Mente Energy -
created to ensure Africa’s clean energy transition improves
lives, not just infrastructure.
We work to educate the next generation, build local
capabilities and scale energy solutions that support
livelihoods, health, and productivity - especially in
communities where cost and access remain major barriers.
Why It
Matters?
For many households, clean energy is still out of reach - not because the technology doesn’t exist, but because the business models, skills or systems haven’t been designed for them. From clean cooking to cold storage, we focus on real-world interventions that enable families, farmers, women and small businesses to thrive in a changing climate and economy. We work with those most affected by climate and energy inequality - ensuring they’re not just included, but central to how solutions are designed, delivered, and scaled.

What We Do
We collaborate with partners across Africa to deliver:
What It Looks
Like in Practice
Some of the community-rooted initiatives we're shaping with partners:
Chill and Thrive
Solar-powered cold rooms supporting smallholder farmers and rural clinics - reducing postharvest losses and enabling safe vaccine storage where grid access is unreliable.
GreenRise Academy
A youth-focused skills platform building pathways in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, recycling, and green enterprise - including a stream for young people with disabilities (GreenABILITY).
